If you want to know about KUTh in a hurry, download our 2 page flyer (148kb PDF).
Geothermal energy has been exploited for centuries, but recently in Australia the focus has been on 'Enhanced Geothermal Power' (EGP) where buried hot granites are being explored as large sources of heat to generate emission free, baseload electricity. KUTh believes that the geology and existing thermal data from Tasmania presents an outstanding exploration play in an area where the transmission grid passes overhead, with connections into the National Grid via Basslink.
KUTh looks for thermal anomalies that can be exploited using hot fractured rock technology. Electricity is produced with zero carbon emissions and low environmental impact.
The name KUTh comes from the chemical symbols for the heat producing elements whose radioactive breakdown provides heat to the Earth.
